Passengers

What could be the story of that couple we see through the window? Who are these two friends talking on a bench? What story this kid is telling to their parents passing in the street?

Passenger brings us in the silent intimacy of all these situations and more to have a glimps of their lives. Let us show you around, with narration and music, to travel in our dreams, our hopes and our lives.

Gael Doorneweerd-Perry directs this format based on the workshop Improvise a Silent Play. Being narrator of the story, he sets up different scenes to bring the audience into the life of different characters that might echo to each other: with the help of music, the players have the freedom to explore their physicality and enjoy impro without the pressure of talking.

The show can last between 10 and 40 mn depending on the size of the cast and the length of the workshop. It’s an ideal format for a mixer in a festival, or to explore the beauty of silent impro.

Helsinki Impro Experience

Cast from the Helsinki Impro Experience who performed in 2019 for the Finland Improv School.

Passengers captures the brief moments of everyday and embraces the beauty of life. It was awesome to be part of the ensemble and play silent scenes full of emotions.

As a beginner, I never had so much fun by trusting my newly-acquainted partner and letting myself play with the story as much in Passengers. It’s both entertaining and inspiring.

Passenger is a delightful dive into a random collection of people living their lives. It has beautiful peace, reactivity and freedom that will leave you thinking about both the characters as well as your own life.
