# Perryweerd - Laura & Gael on tour

Gael co-founded Strasbourg’s main improv group La Carpe Haute, and spends his time teaching and performing improv in and outside of France. He is known for his sound effects -even in silent scenes- and his incomparable mimed fishing skills.
When Laura is not traveling the world, she can be found cycling the Amsterdam canals between her jobs as actress, trainer and AD of TVA Impro. She loves slow motion running, bloody fights and smoking. On stage, that is.
After getting married during the summer 2019, they decided to go on a one year travel around the world to work together. They now teach, perform and travel the globe for the entire season 2019-2020 in what they call the Perryweerd Tour.

The project
The idea of a world tour is born during fall 2018, between our two months tour in North America and our two months tour in Australia. We realized how much we both individually travelled before, and continued to travel together after becoming a couple. We suddenly said to each other:
“What if we would link all our travels to work abroad for a full season?”
That was it. We decided to keep the season 2019-2020 clear from work in our home towns, and started planning the first draft of our tour. After a little while, we had the rough plan to stay in Europe before New Year’s Eve, and travel outside in 2020. We started to reach out to our network, the international improvisation connexions and more, to draw the route of the tour, going from city to city to teach and perform.
“Do you want to marry me? – Yeah, sure!”
Chris Mead was right, our very first show was quite sexy! Newly wed, we quickly called the this year-long travel our Honeymoon Tour, also now known under the name Perryweerd Tour. In August 2019 we left our homes, put our stuff in a bagpack, and started our journey.
